PANEL- PSYCHEDELIC THERAPEUTICS AND TRANSFORMING THE FUTURE OF MENTAL HEALTH CARE

With nearly 1 in 5 US adults living with some form of mental illness and more than 17 million people in the U.S. who have a major depressive disorder, researchers have turned to potential therapies that once showed promise before coming to a complete halt due to regulation; psychedelics. Last year, the FDA granted “breakthrough therapy” status to the psychedelic treatment of depression, for a U.S.-based clinical trial conducted by the nonprofit Usona Institute, of Madison, WI. Hear from the Usona institute and local researchers who are using psychedelics to treat depression, PTSD, addiction, and more with an entirely different way to think about treatment outcomes.
