Empirico

Shannon is a computational biologist who combines genetic data with health information from millions of individuals to identify novel therapeutic targets for human disease. At Empirico, he works within a team of physicians, biologists, chemists, data scientists, and drug developers across the San Diego and Madison sites to help discover the next generation of therapies for patients. Prior to his current role, Shannon worked at the Regeneron Genetics Center in New York. His career in biotech started at Mirus Bio, a UW–Madison spinoff whose scientific success inspired Shannon’s later entrepreneurial endeavors.
